Sōma ("Sōma," "we," "us," "our") is a nervous-system-regulation and meditation mobile application and website (soma.world) providing guided meditation, breathwork, and related wellness content.

Subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store are billed and managed by Apple directly, under their own terms. Subscriptions purchased directly on soma.world are processed by Stripe on behalf of Sōma. See Section 6 for details.
Certain features (quiz responses, program selection, self-reported mood or intention entries) may reveal information about your mental or emotional wellbeing. We do not use this information for advertising, and we do not sell or share it with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising. Sōma does not connect to Apple Health, Google Health Connect, or any similar health-tracking platform, and does not collect biometric data (e.g. heart rate, HRV) from any source.
We do not collect precise GPS location, contacts, photos, or biometric identifiers beyond what your device uses locally for its own authentication (e.g. Face ID to unlock the app — which Sōma never receives).
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising purposes. We share limited data with the following service providers, each solely to perform the function described:

We may also disclose data where required by law, to protect the rights and safety of Sōma or our users, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to you.
When you subscribe through the Apple App Store, your purchase is transacted directly with Apple as merchant of record; Apple's own privacy policy governs that transaction, and Sōma receives only confirmation of your subscription status, not your payment details.
When you subscribe directly on soma.world, your payment is processed by Stripe, Inc. on Sōma's behalf. We do not store your full card number; Stripe's own privacy policy (stripe.com/privacy) governs its handling of your payment data.
You may access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data, or withdraw consent for optional processing, by emailing hello@soma.world. We will respond within 30 days.
If you are a California resident, you have rights under the CCPA/CPRA to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, request deletion, correct inaccurate information, and opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. Sōma does not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA. To exercise these rights, email hello@soma.world — we will not discriminate against you for doing so.
You also have rights under California Civil Code §1798.83 ("Shine the Light") to request information about disclosures of your personal information for third parties' direct marketing purposes; as stated above, Sōma does not make such disclosures.
If you are located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, Sōma acts as data controller for the purposes described in this Policy. You have the right to access your data, request correction or erasure, restrict or object to processing, request data portability, and lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Our legal bases for processing are: performance of a contract (providing the Service), legitimate interest (analytics, security, service improvement), consent (marketing communications, optional health-adjacent inputs), and legal obligation (tax records).
Our sub-processors (Section 4) may process data outside your country of residence, including in the United States. Where required, we and our sub-processors rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards recognized under GDPR.
Sōma is not directed at children; you must be at least 16 years old to use the Service (see Terms of Service, Eligibility). We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact hello@soma.world for deletion.
Sōma is a wellness and educational tool, not a medical device or healthcare service. Information you provide about your mental or emotional state is used solely to personalize your experience within the app and is not reviewed by medical professionals. See our Terms of Service for the full health disclaimer and crisis resources.
soma.world uses cookies and similar technologies for essential site functionality and for analytics (Google Analytics/Firebase). You can control cookies through your browser settings. We do not currently use cookies for third-party advertising.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or an in-app notice at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance.
